Darvin is a seasoned business lawyer, having worked for 15 years at Perkins Coie LLP, one of the largest law firms in the United States. His clients have included publicly-held companies, privately-held companies, and startups. Throughout his career, Darvin has advised on transactions totaling over $4 billion.
 

Over the years, Darvin has developed a reputation for providing legal advice that is effective and pragmatic, always taking into consideration the overall business objectives of the client. In his practice, Darvin has advised clients in a wide variety of business matters and transactions related to operating their businesses, including:

  • Business-to-business commercial agreements, with particular focus on complex enterprise customer agreements in a number of industries, including in telecommunications, technology, and financial services;

  • Technology licensing and development agreements;

  • Data security, data privacy, and data transfer and use issues in enterprise agreements;

  • Payment processing, gateway services, and similar agreements;

  • Joint-venture agreements, including in financial services; 

  • Corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions of privately held businesses, and corporate formation and organization;

  • Commercial finance and secured and unsecured lending arrangements;

  • Real estate, including commercial leasing and purchase and sale transactions involving office, data center, and retail buildings.

Darvin is also an adjunct professor, having taught graduate-level courses at Georgetown University and George Mason University. Topics Darvin has taught have included business ethics, blockchain technology, and the emergence of technology in real estate.

 

Darvin has also been listed as a “Rising Star” in Washington D.C. Super Lawyers, and he has been named a Rising Star by Georgetown University Law Center. 

 

Darvin graduated from Seattle University with honors, receiving a J.D. and an M.B.A. He is licensed to practice in Washington, D.C., New York, and Washington State.

 

Outside of work, Darvin most enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. Darvin is a huge soccer fan and, when not with his family, he can usually be found passionately watching and dissecting matches involving his favorite teams.
